Weekly News Flash from the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena, Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Dear Apostles and Benefactors of the Living Rosary,

During the month of September, we are remembering you and your family, and your spiritual intentions and special needs at the Holy Altar each day. In turn, will you help me save souls? The battle at hand centers around the priesthood. The enemies of Jesus Christ attack His priesthood with great treachery and fury, as this is the best means they can use to paralyze the power of faith and destroy religion in the hearts of the faithful. The Prophet Daniel said the spiritual battle of the antichrist will center on the priesthood and the Sacrifice. This battle has begun and is growing in intensity.

Let the faithful beware of the devilish stratagems of their enemies, who never cease to point out the human frailties of the priests and calumniate them, rendering them despicable and an object of scandal to the faithful. Let the faithful close their ranks around their priests, overlook the frailties of human nature, defend them in their mission, pray for them, and offer their sufferings and sacrifices for them. We must labor to make the God of the Eucharist known and loved, and help prepare souls to receive Him worthily. Jesus in the Eucharist will be our light and our strength. We must give Him our heart and all our possessions. We must belong to Him alone. Jesus’ Life in the Blessed Sacrament is humility in His hiddenness, obedience to the priest in all things, mildness and goodness, for He endures everything without complaining or avenging Himself. Our Lord is in the Blessed Sacrament not merely to distribute His Graces but, above all, to be our Way and our Model! His Eucharistic charity, like that of a mother, is inexhaustible. God has given Mary the task of conceiving, forming and perfecting Jesus in us!

Let us make a resolve never to be ungrateful to God for the infinite Gift of Himself in the Holy Eucharist. Pray for your priests. Attend Holy Mass often, stop in during the day to visit the Most Blessed Sacrament, make frequent Spiritual Communions during the day, and live in His presence as you carry Him about with you in the performance of your daily duties. Jesus, living in Mary, come and live in me!

I impart to you all, my priestly blessing:

+ In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

THE EUCHARIST IS THE SOURCE OF ALL THE OTHER SACRAMENTS

The lance of Longinus opened the Heart of Christ and the sacred fountain of His Blood and water in perpetual sacrifice flowed out upon the whole world. The universe was inundated with these streams of Grace, which flow in us by the channel of the Sacraments. Repentant sinners are carried in this sea of infinite mercies. The Blood of Christ washes them in the Sacrament of Penance and opens to them His adorable Heart. The Eucharist is at one and the same time both Sacrament and Sacrifice. Pauline Jaricot never tired contemplating the inexpressible greatness of the priesthood. Through the priest, the holy humanity of Christ is clothed and made visible. All priests are but one in Jesus Christ, as a thousand devoted hosts are but one Body of Christ, although He is really entire in each host.

The priest owes what he is to the power and presence of Christ within him. His power comes from the tabernacle and it is nothing else other than the power of God. The priest is the channel through which the Precious Blood of Jesus spills into our hearts. Each priest is chosen to carry out the prodigies of Infinite Love. It is in his heart that the sacramental life rests. It is the poor vicar in the countryside upon whose shoulders lay the salvation of everyone who lives in his region. What a privilege! What an awesome responsibility! Pauline attempted to iIIustrate the vocation of priests by evoking this comparison: the world is like a large and fast moving river in which an immense quantity of people are drowning. The priest is the co-pilot, partner with the divine Pilot, Jesus Christ, and he is sent out to rescue all who are drowning. He faces great danger to his own life as he exposes himself fearlessly to save those drowning. But the divine Pilot follows him closely with His barge and rescues them all from the raging water. The Sacred Heart is always for them an open shelter where they find asylum and strength through prayer. Missionaries will produce fruit for souls so long as they are men of prayer. In order for their words to be fruitful, they must be germinated by prayer in the presence of the Holy Eucharist. The priest must preserve his spirit of prayer in the midst of manifold duties. ‘The Lamb is immolated for all, but only you priests are placed in charge of making his invitations and receiving the guests at His celestial banquet.’ (A. 1, 111)

O JESUS, MAKE MY HEART TO MELT AS WAX!

Here now is a beautiful prayer written by Pauline in 1824, at the age of 25 years, which was found in her intimate diary.

O Jesus, gentle and sweet, melt my heart like wax before the hot fire of Thy tender Love! Thou art the only Savior, King and Lord of the Universe! I lack expression to praise Thee, strength to glorify Thee and virtue to honor Thee, but I offer Thee Thine own praise, holiness and infinite perfections which are concealed in a manner so wonderfully in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I offer Thee the love of the most holy Virgin Mary who herself is nearest to Thy Heart.

Pauline’s apostolic soul longed to bring the knowledge and love of Christ to the whole world. Never did she cease to sing the glory of God and give Him thanks. “Receive us in Thy embrace as we are and give us all that Thou hath so that, disappearing in Thee, O Ocean of Love and Perfections, nothing will remain of us any longer but Thyself, wherein we are hidden.” AAL 3,1,28

Pauline asked the Mother of God to repair for the sacrileges of man, and to deliver France from her increasing impiety. She begged Our Lady to offer the sorrows She suffered at the foot of the Cross and also the privileges with which God had adorned Her that His glory might be manifest: The privilege of being the Mother of God, the privilege of Her Immaculate Conception, and the privilege of being Mother of the Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Rome. These last two doctrines had not yet been proclaimed and so Pauline was their precursor.

At the time of the purchase of her house, named Lorette, Pauline affixed to the main facade the title; “Mary was conceived without sin.” Her goal in this was to give glory to her celestial Mother and to preserve the city of Lyon from evil. To this end, she placed a picture of the Immaculate Virgin Mary in every room. She prayed ardently that this dogma would be proclaimed. Pauline distributed a quantity of medals engraved in honor of the Immaculate Conception long before the apparition of the Miraculous Medal on the street of Rue de Bac. At the height of the atrocities of the French Revolution as the soldiers ascended the Hill of Fourviere, Pauline distributed these medals on the road so that the soldiers would find them. Through the power of this medal of the Immaculate Conception, their plan to attack and pillage the area was arrested.

Dear Patti,

I enclose the lists of new members enrolled in the Living Rosary. I am very blessed as well as these children here in the boarding school and their families to be a part of the ULRA.

Last June, with the help of politicians, the State’s Plurinational Reformed Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Bolivia was created. All of it is false, without foundation. They reduced a Catholic priest to the lay state and then a ‘bishop’ of that sect made him a ‘bishop’ for Bolivia. Their ‘parish priests’ visit homes, celebrate their ‘masses’ and the people are highly charged for them.

Bolivia will be a great country when it regains its Catholic being, for only the Catholic Faith makes a nation great. So it was with Spain. Spain was a great and powerful country with enormous culture and great joy as long as she kept the Catholic Faith. Today, it is a country where its inhabitants are disenchanted and with great sadness, regardless of how much they try to appear otherwise.

Bolivia is a very wealthy country in natural gas and minerals but there is no industry. There is a lot of money in peoples’ hands. Because of clandestine cocaine and lack of evangelization, people do not know how to manage their money.

There is a great need for Priests and Nuns in Bolivia. There are many Protestants around here and I see the young people, Protestant and Catholic alike, have no conviction. The sects are invading and robbing the people of their Faith. I pray many Rosaries a day, and ask you and your members to pray for the return to the Faith of the people in Bolivia. Let us be united in the communion of praying the Holy Rosary.

My town is on a high altitude and we always have to wear warm clothing. Please pray for my courage and support to bring back the children and young people to the Catholic Faith.

Padre Jesus
BOLIVIA – S. AMERICAPrayer given by The Virgin Mary Herself  To Blessed Anna Maria Taigi

Prostrate at thy feet, O Great Queen of Heaven, we venerate thee with the deepest reverence and we confess that thou art the Daughter of the Father, the Mother of the Divine Word, the Spouse of the Holy Ghost. Thou art the store-keeper and the almoner of the Divine Mercies. For this reason, we call thee, Mother of Divine Compassion. Behold us here in affliction and anguish. Deign to show us thy true love. We beg thee to ask the Holy Trinity most fervently to grant us the Grace ever to conquer the devil and the world, and our evil passions; the efficacious Grace that sanctifies the just, converts sinners, destroys heresies, enlightens infidels and brings all men to the true Faith.

Obtain for us this great gift that all the world may form but one people united in the One True Church.

Mary, Mother of Holy Hope, Pray for Us!

Share Your Gift of Faith

For centuries, our cherished Catholic faith has been passed from person to person, parent to child, etc. Each of us carries in our heart a special memory of how God first graced us with the knowledge of the faith and how Our Blessed Mother, Saint Philomena, Venerable Pauline Jaricot and other saints changed our lives and brought us closer to Christ.

In our work in the Universal Living Rosary Association, we see first hand how millions of souls are currently living without that knowledge of God and are living outside of His grace. We have been given a beautiful opportunity to carry out Christ’s work and pass on our faith and blessings to others who would otherwise never be introduced to Our Lord, the Savior of all mankind. Just as we pray for the souls in Purgatory who have no one to pray for them, we should also make it a part of our life’s mission to pass on our faith to as many souls as possible who have no one else to pass it on to them, who don’t know Our Lord and His promise of salvation.
