Dear Mother Patti,

I am very sorry that report of our visit to BO and Kenema is coming late. This is because we arrived in Freetown during the Weekend where most Cafes do not open on Sundays.

Our journey could be described as successful because as I told you before Fr. Anthony Smart decided to buy for our transport at the last minute.

Again, he made all the necessary contact to the areas where I and Juliana where to be visited. We met people already waiting.

On our arrival on that Wednesday evening, we were welcomed at Bo Pastoral Center by Rev. Fr. Johnbull Christian Brashay, the director of Vocations and Regional Youth Chaplain. He served us well and gave me the opportunity to explain the aim of the ULRA and how it were to benefit his Parishioners and the Youths in particular r (myself, Juliana and Fr. Johmbull, 1st photo and last photo) the following Morning. He lodged, fed and paid our transport to Kenema Diocese. He is a nice and young Priest. Let's pray for him.

Later that Morning after massive enrollment in the St. Theresa's Parish, we left for Kenema Diocese.

On our arrival, we were received by the Spiritual Director of the Legion of Mary, Rev. Fr. George Mary K. Momoh with about 10 members of the Legion of Mary. He is also assistant Parish Priest of St. Paul's Cathedral, Kenema (photo included). We was also introduced to the Vicar General who in turn took us to the Bishop. We could not take photo because the Bishop was in his Garden Farm attire that Morning. I presented him with some DD, MM, Station of the Cross and a nice Rosary. Sr. Juliana shall take photo with him.

About 15 members were enrolled in the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA). Even some enrolled their children and friends (photo with vicar and Fr. George included).

I also, requested that our leader, Juliana be allowed to enroll School children when School shall reopen this September. Both Fr. Johnbull and Fr. George are School directors.

I was assured that she shall be working with Rosary Sisters from Nigeria who runs many Schools in the Diocese of Kenema. The Vicar General paid for our transport back to BO.
After enrolling some people again at St. Theresa's Parish that Friday Morning in collaboration with some members of the Legion of Mary, who expressed interest in the Apostolate, promised through their President to carry on the enrollment hence it is part of Legion Apostolate.
On Friday August 27, we arrived back to Freetown on the evening of the same Friday.
I shall still have to visit one other Diocese of Makene this Week and Radio Maria discussion.
On the other hand, I was told me that the last 2 boxes arrived last Friday. It came on my absence.
Thanks for your prayers; things are moving according to plan.
Ave Maria!

Dear Patti:

My sister and I have been so busy babysitting and spending many wonderful hours with my son’s children after their mother passed away from Breast cancer, I didn't get a chance to thank you for the many, many prayers and masses said for my daughter-in-law during her long illness. I know she is in heaven with a Lord and not suffering anymore and there have been many signal graces given to ease our sorrow. I just ask for prayers for my grandchildren who are suffering at the loss of their mother, especially the 5 year old. She's having a real difficult time coping without her mother.

My son is in the faith and has taught the children well and when the time allows us prayer together.

I try to involve them with helping me make rosaries but as children are, their attention span is short. But they try.

God has blessed the family with the gift of music (Holy Music); my grandchildren love to sing and are now learning, piano and trumpet. My son was blessed to be choir director of St. John the Theologian Orthodox Church and compose the Incarnation and Crucifixion of Our Lord, and sung by a newly assembled chamber group. You can hear the pieces on the website: Christian Orthodox Music Project. He wants to cut CD’s and sell them and donate the money to the cancer research program to help the doctor who cared for my daughter-in-law continue to do research to help find a cure for the rare form of cancer she had. Praise God.

Last year, I requested prayers for a couple of friends of mine whose daughters were trying to conceive but were unable to do so. The prayers offered up to St. Philomena by you and your prayer group and the prayers offered up through my friends and their prayer group to Our Beloved Saint was nothing short of 2 miracles. My woman conceived and she was over-joyed that God blessed her with a child. When she went for a sonar- gram she learned she was going to have triplets. Well, 9 months have gone by she did give birth to three beautiful children.

My other friend just informed me that by introducing her to my Beloved St. Philomena and praying to her sister-in-law was able to conceive and everyone in the family is so over-joyed that they can't wait for the baby to be born.

Our Beloved Saint made 2 families very, very happy.

Well Patti, I just wanted to pass on some really good news to you and to keep you informed on her great intercessor to God. Love and Friends in Christ.

Dear Mrs. Patti,

Peace and good health! Greetings from Kengtong, Myanmar.

It is with great joy and gratitude that I acknowledge receipt of the Holy Rosary, St. Philomena oil and reading materials of St. Philomena. We distributed all the rosaries and religious articles to the faithful on the day of Assumption, 15 August, 2010. Assumption feast is one of the greatest feasts after Christmas and Easter. We all believe that through Mary we can go to Jesus. Through the faithful recitation of the rosary we can obtain graces and become perfect. Many priests, religious and faithful are requesting more rosaries and St. Philomena's oil. I thank you most sincerely for your generosity and sacrifice you have done for us. May God bless you and Mary our Mother protects you today and forever.

Kindest regards,

Dear Mother Patti,

Glad to send you some photos of action.

These were taken from St. Augustine Parish, where I spoke to some group of youth’s group. Many enrolled.

Again, at St. Luke's Parish, I met members of the Legion of Mary with their spiritual guide, MGR Samuel.

I spoke to him about coming to enroll School children when School opens in September, 2010, he accepted.

There was also massive enrollment.

I shall find out from Edard Pessima about the boxes.

In fact, I have no material right now.

Yes, there already perspective promoters but I am still monitoring their interest.

The secret behind the success is your support both materially and spiritually.

For now use the same address please.

Violence is feared but expected after the forthcoming referendum and is the sole topic now, the majority people are spending their days in prayers to God for peace!

Also, extensive flood damage that has followed prolonged soil scorching drought in different parts is another concern soon pushing a large population into starvation; food theft related deaths are rocketing by the day!

Unfolding news concretely verify in place, numerous secret death squads that decisively crack down; anti- south Sudan referendum Islamists collaborators! I see the nation passing through an -extraordinary period of massive social unrest; some regions are becoming no-go areas because of sponsored inter-tribal clashes for which the northern Islamists are accused of having a hand in!

Disgruntled soldiers uprisings and the rising endemic diseases frighten further and the population/doctor ratio is abnormally high for basic health care. Poor and desperate, the population's livelihood is depend ant on donation handouts as reverberating 22yr civil war impact continue to bite!

Today, Saturday 21st Aug is exactly 10 days since I arrived here in Juba; I am profoundly humbled to confirm that the dangerous mission is complete! Last night the sacramental dispatch for Somalia arrived at the final destination! Thanks to everyone that participated in prayers for this arduous that outstandingly remains a miracle!

How have I achieved this and what tactics did I use? Into a lawless nation that has been submerged into different Islamic fundamentalists groups since US forces pull out in 1991?? How did Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA) get contact from a region run by ruthlessness? I can’t say that it’s my poor intelligence that was involved alone, Mother Mary, the little saint and St. Raphael were the main drivers that directed the mission!

When Patti Melvin first shared Paul's urgent need last April, she asked me whether it would be viable to put myself in such a dangerous situation and reach with the Sacramentals to Somalia besides Darfur and N.E Congo! The poor director had reservations towards the venture; for fear of openly exposing my useless life at risk because Somalia is dominating with lethal news of daily killings! Nonetheless, she later accepted to my preparations as she looked out for to the costly funding of the undertaking!

I blessedly happen to have long standing friendship with Somali internet operator migrants in Kampala; the simple Moslems readily helped me and established contacts with their fellows in Juba (South Sudan) and then with another group in the tightly Islamists controlled Somali capital Mogadishu, them, Burundian and Ugandan peace keepers have been cornerstones in this success although with costs!

Two days following my arrival in Juba, I found out Kaim's address where I was well received and we discussed all the costs that was to be involved in dispatching the boxes to Somalia, I repacked the medals on advise and made them ready! Each day until 17th, I could not hear from him, however, we had together talked with those that later received the cargo in Somalia! Karim was not only finalizing with the others that were involved in the smuggling racket but was also making contacts with the Burundians and Ugandan soldiers whose contacts I had provided! He wanted to make sure that I was not a wrong person.

It was on the late evening of that Tues when I was approached by a stranger that introduced himself as Abubaker- I only recognized his Somalia ethnicity by the accent! His face grinned before my local kerosene lamp light when he noticed my nervousness after laying it out to me that he is a mild Islamists, promisingly he assured me of no harm! We discussed the travel costs from Juba to Mogadishu airport at length; finally settled at $2,000! That same night I escorted him with the luggage to somewhere where I was told not to proceed and returned to my lodging! He accepted to my offer of $1,000 before delivery and has just settled the remaining $1,000 this evening to the person he promised to contact

That same night, I made constant contact with Paul to alert him, the following two days I was in constant prayer for safe delivery! I got call yesterday that the dispatch is now with Paul! I am well aware that it was at the ruined Mogadishu airport where The Burundian and Ugandan peace-keepers were actively involved in delivering between the dangerous airport and Paul's location that remains a secret place for security reasons,

Thanks to all those that have enabled this!

I am now going to work on the other two drops next week because arranging for flights are not done during weekends!

I am extremely happy!

Dear Patti,

Greetings of Peace in Jesus and In Mary!

I wish to acknowledge with gratitude the box of religious articles you sent. The box contains the following: hundreds of rosary beads, scapulars, miraculous medals, 3 crucifixes, prayer cards (St. Philomena, Divine Mercy, Blessed Imelda Lambertini, 52nd International Military Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2010, St. Therese of Leiseux, Splinters from the Cross), Books and Pamphlets ( Who is Padre Pio, Dark Night of the Soul, Preparations for Total Consecration Acc to St. Louis Marie de Montfort, Basic Christian Doctrine, St. John Neumann’s Catechism, Dedicated Decades Summer 2009, Dedicated Decades Spring 2009). All these are of great help to me in strengthening the devotion to Mother Mary, especially in my Parish Community.

My Parish is composed of 20 barangays (basic political unit here in the Philippines), with a total population of 40.000, of which 93% are Catholics. In one barangay, there is curiousity on the life and works of St. Philomena because one of their former barrio mates who is now residing in Guam brought an image of St. Philomena to their chapel. They keep on asking from me copies of novena to St. Philomena.

The Living Rosary is already introduced in the Parish. You could be impressed by their great love to Mary and to her rosary.

Once again, accept my expression of gratitude to you and to the benefactors of the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena. We will treasure the religious articles you send us. God bless all your missionary works.

One with you in your zeal for the spread of devotion to the Eucharist and to Mama Mary, I am

Dear Patti,

God Bless you....Thank you very much for the Sacramentals and the precious books contained in them. These books equip us to fight for Our Loving Mother Mary whom the devil is constantly fighting through the other religious agents. Indeed they have no stand against us.....every query they have is answered by Catholic experts in those Tan Books.....Kindly thank the Tan Books for their Christian hearts. May be because we were a British Protectorate (Anglican Church) most if not all the rare books Tan has kindly sent us we have never seen or read...once again Tan Thank You.

Kindly pray for the souls of: AIGI-ALUPO KRISTINA (who had clocked 100 years. Her cheer was infectious. In fact one of the doctors who had been attending her declared that the secret of her age was she had a smile and laughter was her companion).........Soul of::AIMO ALBINA......May God Rest Their Souls in Peace.

Dear Patti,

Thank you for the packet of holy articles sent in April 2010. I saw beautiful rosaries, medals, holy pictures and scapulars. They are all useful for my pastoral tours. People appreciate them deeply. Especially children and Anna associations. They are never enough as I have 7000 Catholics. I am sure the devotion will increase due to your services and hard works.

May God bless you.

Dear Patti,

Thank you very much for the big box of Rosaries, cards, medals, oils and the other things that reached me on Thursday!!!

I was so grateful to receive the gifts in time before this Feast Day because at the hospital, many patients were looking for "ROSARIES" to help them pray for the sicknesses and give them strength in their FAITH journey!!! I KNOW that 'OUR' little Saint is at "WORK". So many patients and their guardians saw one of my aunts with a 'scapular I gave her and it really drew their attention and love for it!

She told them about me who shares the items from the Universal Living Rosary Association, and the items were timely!!! PRAISE GOD, THE FATHER, GOD THE SON AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT, MOTHER MARY, OUR SAINTS AND OUR SPECIAL SAINT!!! Among the patients were two parents' of priests! They were so drawn to me when I was informing my aunt how to enroll new members and one priest's mother just came up and said touching her chest," Are you selling those items? I really want this pretty girl, St Philomena! She stood and stared long and hard then continued to say, "My son, the priest, gave me a card different to this on and I do not know any prayer to her. Can I enroll too so I can get one of her images and items? So I smiled and said, "Thank you". So, she enrolled herself, her sick son and two of her sisters who are teachers. All the patients in that ward enrolled and received the items I had to give away.

I was also grateful that a priest was there as well and I asked if he had heard of St Philomena and he said, 'yes." Next, at the bus stop, two more asked if I was selling the ROSARIES and they too were enrolled. Sunday, I went to distribute to the little girls and their parents also got enrolled and said, "oh, how grateful of you to come and give us these "beautiful Rosaries. We've never received any of these 'Luminous' Rosaries before." I just said, Thank St Philomena and Mama Maria!" The box is almost empty now and I am still on fire fishing for more souls! This is why my principal at school says, "It was not a mistake of you coming to teach at IEA Kamarau! God sent you here to minister to us! The patients in the ward have requested that I should go and have a prayer session with them when possible and I will find time to go and carry out their request.

Thank you very much and I hope the Great big family continues to pray for everyone.

Love,
Patricia

Dearest Patti,

The Mass of St. Philomena was greatly celebrated at our St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica here yesterday at 3.30 p.m. It was attended by great number of people. Two of our good and devoted Priest Members; Frs. Prof. John Appiah Poku and Augustine Ntim Duodu were Co-Celebrants. In the Mass after homily, Fr. Dr. Ntim Duodu who travelled all the way from Mampong Seminary to join us for the festivity informed us that he had a brutal accident with his car last week, the car is now beyond repairs but fortunately for him he es- caped unhurt. And said all these were by the powerful intercession of our Lady and our Patroness, St. Philomena.

Patti, just immediately after the Mass yesterday, there began a very heavy down pour and this kept us indoors in the chapel for over two hours and we couldn't continue with the other activities like Candle Procession and Singing of Praises to the Lord around the Basilica premises, as we usually do. To this end, Fr. Prof. Appiah Poku tried to encourage the whole congregation by saying 'God has heard our prayers and that He has opened heavens to pour down upon us in abundance His Graces and Blessings through the rainfall. This indeed reminded me of what I said earlier that there would be 'SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS'. May the Lord always be with us!! PEACE BE TO YOU.

Yours in JESUS and MARY,

Dear Patti Melvin,

I write on the eve of the Feast of St. Philomena to wish you, and all our Benefactors God's abundant blessings through the intercession of St. Philomena. May St. Philomena continue to intercede for you and all your collaborators and every member in the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA) that we may continue to be faithful to Jesus Christ till the end.

A group of youths here acted a play about the life of St. Philomena as I told you, and a beautiful song was composed in her honor. We have offered a Holy Mass in honor of St. Philomena and our intention is that St. Philomena may intercede for us that this devotion of hers that crowns Jesus and the Mother Mary most should be accepted in our parish.

Dear Patti, Sr. Margaret Mary Kibvemla one of our sisters, loved St. Philomena very much. She was a faithful devotee to St. Philomena. Last year she was very sick. I went to visit her and she told me to pray to St. Philomena and tell her about her. The day of the novena came and I started it, I said the novena before the Blessed Sacrament, telling St. Philomena to intercede before the throne of God in favor of Sr. Margaret Mary. My Dear Patti, on the Feast of St. Philomena at about 4.00pm when I went to wish her happy feast of St. Philomena to tell her that she should unite her pains with that of St. Philomena was just when she joined St. Philomena to enjoy the presence of Jesus and Mary. This happened last year Feast of St. Philomena. Let us remember her in our prayers. May her soul rest in perfect peace in the Lord Jesus our Savior, Mary Our Mother. Amen.

I have more other things to share. I shall do that later. Once more, I wish you all that you desire from the Lord through the intercession of St. Philomena. I wish you a wonderful celebration tomorrow. We are united in prayer and at Holy Mass.

God bless.

Sr. Mary Florence Angwe

Dear Patti;

It was all smiles on the 5th of August, Thursday last week when I received the box of Sacramentals and please accept our sincere thanks. We received it in time of our Novena to St. Philomena and tomorrow being the big day, we have booked Mass in Her honor and the member will give out gift at the Altar during Mass amid allulations!! On Saturday the 14th of August, we will meet at Diocese Level for our celebrations since Wednesday is mid-week, people chose to meet week-end.

Some years back, I had problems in the lower part of my abdomen and upon scanning, it was revealed that I had a swelling and I was given a day for the operation, but before this, I was praying to St. Philomena to help me with a successful operation. Due to distance, I requested the Doctor to give me a referral letter to a nearer hospital and there the Dr. said he wanted to check again and to my great joy, I was told there was no swelling and I have been well since that time to date. Philomena had cured me!! Please include this in the News Letter.

Once again, thanks for the Holy Oil, Scapulars, Rosaries, Medals and the literature. We wish you good health and mat God bless you abundantly.

Yours in Jesus, Mary and St. Philomena.

Dear Mrs. Melvin,

I am back at home after celebrating Feast of St. Philomena at two different places. I had to go to four places but due to the floods in Pakistan it was not possible for me to move at any other place. I went to Gujrat on 7th to go to Bhimber (Azad Kashmir) but due to floods it was not possible to reach there. The next day, i.e. on 8th, we had planned to celebrate Feast at Gujrat. We did it but mostly the people came wet due to the heavy rain. Rain had started at 7 in the morning and it lasted up to 11:30 a.m.

Fr. Tariq Bhatti was there to celebrate Holy Mass. He gave an account of the efforts of Living Rosary for promoting devotion to Mother Mary and Holy Rosary in Pakistan and world over. After Mass I was invited to give a detail of the life of St. Philomena. Mr. Waseem our promoter at Gujrat also said Happy Feast to the people present there from him and his parish. Then there was a cake cutting ceremony. In the evening we had again planned to go to Sultanabad but again it was not possible.

At night I left for Sargodha. Today, the Feast was celebrated at Sargodha almost in the same manner. Only the priest and place was changed. Fr. Younas Riaz was there for Holy Mass.

I had to go to Khanewal tonight but all the way is almost closed. And even if it is open, it is very dangerous to travel. So, I returned back home. I will again go to different places after about 3 or 4 days.

The newsletters are ready. Now, I will get from press and send to our promoters. I am also preparing calendar for the next year. It is early because we can sale it in the next month (3-5 September) at Mariam a bad on the occasion of annual celebrations of Our Lady. After September it will be difficult to sale it. So, I am trying to make it now. Please try to help me for it.

Please pray for all these difficulties we are facing in Pakistan.

OK, Good Bye and God Bless You,

Yours in Christ and Holy Mother,

Dear sister Patty,

Good day! Brother Jojit Zapanza came here at our house to invite us to attend the feast of nativity of St. Philomena this coming August 11 at the time of 6:00 p.m. The holy mass celebration in St. Joseph Cathedral. We're very thankful that he gave us booklets and rosaries and other religious articles especially my decade of St. Philomena. Thank you very much for sending Brother Jojit here the religious supply and my family received.

Brother Jojit is a missionary here in Antique routines everyday through different houses and because of him we learned from him about St. Filomena and venerable Pauline. Thank you so much. I hope that someday there will be a center here in Antique, Philippines.

Dear Patti,

More testimonies I would like to gather and shared to you.

One member of the Living Rosary, a friend and had her family out of town. She was rushed to go for her daughter had to be operated in breast cancer. She had told me everything about her problems, and asked more prayers for St. Philomena. Aside from that her granddaughter was also advised for throat operation.

So, she went to her daughter's place and reminds us to pray fervently for her family. After two weeks absence, she went home with a happy and thankful heart to us.

She was told by their doctor that maybe plenty in your family are praying for the success of the operation, because it was found out after the biopsy, it was found out that it was negative.

The same result as her granddaughter swollen throat. It was not operated too. It was only due being so stout, that the swollen throat was healed through medication.

Hail to St. Philomena!!!

Dear Mother Patti,

Thank you immensely for your word of encouragement and prayers.

I told James on my arrival that I have come here to work and therefore he must provide me the opportunity to accomplish my aim.

Presently, I’m carrying on Novenas to Ven. Pauline and St. Philomena in view of their Feasts this coming Week. And there is no doubt in my mind that they are responding.

The child with James was constantly sick last Year when I came but as I went, James was using Oil of St. Philomena on him. On my arrival he told me that the child, little Emmanuel is well and fine. He longer cries at night as he uses to do. People in the Quarter today call him Philomena's miracle.

Additionally, when I visited Fr. Larry as earlier reported he told me how Oil of St. Philomena healed a sick child. He said that the child today is called “Angle of St. Philomena"

Once again thank you, mom.

Thank you very much for your letter and Holy pictures and mainly for A Triduum which will be offered for the intention of our family. It is a highest gift on the earth, the Holy Masses. You are so kind. The copies you are getting from the other countries and sharing them are quite sad how people are suffering there, especially in Africa and Asia.

God always send someone to help out like Emma or Father Ivan Kolodiy and of course you. They are really new apostles in this time. The Sacramentals mean so much to people there and the protection is great, even the holy oil of St. Philomena means so much to the Ukrainian people.

The Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph but suffering will be great and already is. What a privilege to belong to this great army of Her helpers The Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA)!

Take care and may God bless you Patti,

Your family and helpers.
