Wednesday, July 8, 2009Dear and Loving Sr. Patti,This evening I returned back to Chennai. On 6th he grouped all Promoters and formed coordination group and an executive to assist him. He has taken lots of trouble in printing all about the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA) mission in three languages in a very shorter period. I am satisfied and relieved my anxiety on the future of ULRA in Sri Lanka. Yesterday we went round meeting all Senior Priests and Archbishop Oswal Gomis (he is retiring) and a new Archbishop has been announced and he will assume the Office of the Archiepiscopate the first week of August. Fr. Andrew is associating with many priests and religious including one old Sister in Jaffna who has regular correspondence with you. She too called me up and I requested to associate and cooperate with Fr. Andrew for promotion of ULRA around Jaffna. I carried with me 10 - 6" statues and 3 one foot statues of St. Philomena Shirts, 300 stitched Scapulars, and 1,000 Scapular materials for sewing in Sri Lanka with the help of members, Secret of Rosary in Tamil, Ven. Pauline Jaricot’s booklets. Etc. Regarding banner on St. John M. Vianney with St. Philomena we don't have nice multicolor picture. Can share any nice picture? I planned to print one that you have in the website Ven. Pauline, St. Philomena and St. J. M. Vianney. Any suitable wording in the banner? Please suggest. I have no printed lots of literatures and emptied the cash in hands for Statues and also for banners. Thanks for your prayers. I was not brisk while I was in Sri Lanka though Fr. Andrew's mother looked after me in an excellent manner. With love and prayers KJROCHE Dehiwela Sri Lanka |
Dear Sr. Patti, I am happy to note to you that the promoters meeting went on well. There were about 65 promoters. Bro. Joseph from India was also present. Now I have about 50 new lists, i.e., 750 new members. Now I need new Rosary numbers. Pl. send immediately. I need St. Philomena pictures before the feast. The photos will follow. Yours in Iesu et Maria, Rev. Fr. A. Uthayadas Colombo Sri Lanka |
Friday, May 1, 2009Dear and Loving Sr. Patti,For Fr. Andrew Uthayadas, it is difficult to send Rosaries to displace and refugees in concentration camps in the worn area Jaffna and it is surroundings. Sisters of Holy Family of Bourdex (among them one is Sr. Francesca a Promoter) want me to donate as many Rosaries as possible to distribute to the affected lots. Army is not in the way of distribution of Rosaries. I am packing a box of about more than 500 Rosaries to be sent through Sisters travelling to Colombo, Srilanka. You, my sister can airlift Rosaries if possible to us. With love and prayers Kjroche Srilanka |
Wednesday, April 29, 2009Dear Mrs. Patti,The airlift reached me safe. In the next please do send pictures of Ven. Foundress. I am planning work in a wider manner in order to introduce her to many. Please pray for me. I remember almost in every Holy Mass that I celebrate the universal family of the Living Rosary. We are planning to hold the 2nd promoters' meeting on 6th of July and we will organize into a group of executives thus even in my absence the association will grow. By the way I have found several historical data to support the existence of Living Rosary here even back in the time of Ven. Pauline as there were French missionaries in the island also later started by Dominicans too. Will march for the Triumph!!! AVE MARIA! Yours in Iesu et Maria, Father Andrew Sri Lanka |
Tuesday, April 14, 2009Dear beloved Sr. Patti,I am very happy to write to you. The gift of UPS air lift reached me safe. The small amount from that was sent to Internally Displaced Persons’ areas and the some other I will send to bishops. We will reach out many as possible. I celebrated the Holy Easter Triduum and in each of the service I remembered you and all the members both living and diseased. May God bless us and Mother Mary helps us in all our needs and endeavors. Amen. Your brother in Iesu et Maria, Fr. Andrew Rev. Fr. A. Uthayadas Sri Lanka |

Thursday, April 2, 2009Dear beloved sister Patti,I am happy to inform that today 460 new members i.e. 30 new groups were sent to you. The airlift/UPS is very good for they delivered it to home. But it may be expensive to you over there. We are going to print St. Philomena's book in Tamil, reprint of Indian one. Then reprinting a book on Mother Mary for May devotions lastly printed in 1956 in Sinhala and it will have an ad for joining to Living Rosary as the last page. Pray for the efforts. My Easter wishes to all the members all over the world, promoters, and benefactors. May God bless you all in abundance. Yours in Iesu et Maria, Rev. Fr. Andrew Sri Lanka |
Monday, March 16, 2009 Dear Sr. Patti, God's blessings! With regard to Vanni situation is unspeakable and horrible situation and no way of going to a priest or civilian only ICRC that also with lots of difficulties. But the remnant is with lot of difficulties flee to the government controlled area yet without a hope of future and treated in a sub-human way. Only some religious sisters and priests are able visit them after a prolonged permission. So I shared with those religious some sacramentals. Yet even to reach these religious with sacramentals by post is more and more difficult due to security reasons. Anyway we as Catholics have not lost the hope of 'salvation'. Now I from the south tell the people to pray for those victims yet misunderstood by some extremists among the sheep, But pray for these innocent ones who are treated in sub-human rather in-human ways by some competent authorities. May God bless us all! With regard to Living Rosary mission we are somewhat steady and progressing faster. Everything for the greater glory of God. Yours in Iesu et Maria, Rev. Fr. Andrew Sri Lanka |
Tuesday, February 10, 2009 Dear beloved sister Patti, I am happy to write to you and I am in a parish where about 4,000 catholic families are. My target is to get at least 4,000 persons for the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA). Even today I introduced that to the Divine Mercy group. Here we have started (people) to hold a novena every Monday in honor of St. Philomena. Bro. Roche promised me to send a digital camera them it will be easy for me to send photos. Last Monday I addressed a group at St. Andrew's, Colombo-15. Your box reached me safe. Thank you for your help. Today it is 10th my special mass will be offered for all our ULRA members and promoters, benefactors. There are lots of new lists I will be sending soon. Yours in Iesu et Maria, Rev. Fr. A. Uthayadas Sri Lanka |
